| About Rabbi Joseph H. Gelberman, PhD |
Rabbi Joseph H. Gelberman, Ph.D., is a modern Hassidic Rabbi in "the Way of Martin Buber." Rabbi Gelberman is widely recognized as a modern master of the teachings of the Kabbalah.
He is also a psychotherapist with a successful practice in New York City. Through his teachings and ministry, the Rabbi has dedicated his life to furthering understanding and cooperation among the world's faiths. At the age of 71, he founded The New Seminary in a small basement space in New York's Greenwich Village. In 1998 he retired from that institution and at the age of 87 established The All Faiths Seminary International, a school devoted to helping working professional people bring spirituality into their work place. |
| Born and educated as a rabbi in Hungary, Dr. Gelberman is also a graduate of the City University of New York and Yeshiva University. For his professional preparation as a therapist, he interned for two years at the Mental Hygiene Clinic of the Cumberland Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.
For over 20 years, he served as the Rabbi of the Little Synagogue in New York City. At present, he is the Rabbi of The New Synagogue of New York City. He is the author of seven books, including "The Kabbalah As I See It" and "Spiritual Truths." |
